Steve Albini - Underground punk legend Albini has produced, er,
"recorded" literally thousands of records, most of them by bands that
no one will ever hear. He has, however, twiddled the knobs for such
successful artists as Nirvana, the Jesus Lizard, the Poster Children,
Superchunk, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, PJ Harvey, and the Pixies. A musician himself, Albini has
played in the influential punk bands Big Black, Rapeman, and (his
current combo) Shellac. Steve Albini related sites:
Scott Giampino - Publicist, Touch & Go Records. Giampino al
so drums for the Touch & Go bacon-fried boogie combo Cash Money.
Jim DeRogatis - Former Senior Editor for Rolling Stone and is currently the Pop Music Editor for the Chicago Sun-Times.
Dannie Flesher - As one of the co-founders of seminal label Wax
Trax!, Flesher helped bring such acts as Ministry, Front 242, KMFDM,
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, the KLF, Meat Beat Manifesto,
Front Line Assembly, and many others to industrial, dance, and
ambient music fans. Go to the Wax Trax! page
John "Skippy" McFadden - Although his label March Records is quite
tiny, major labels have raided McFadden's label twice (Catherine and
Loud Lucy). March's current roster includes Holiday, Godzuki, and
Pee. Go to the March Records
page.
Chris Connelly - Part of the Wax Trax! family for many years,
Connelly has recorded and performed with the Revolting Cocks and
other Al Jourgensen side projects. His solo material has turned away
from that type of sonic assault, however. Go to the

Bill Wyman - Former Chicago Reader Hitsville columnist, Wyman
routinely received hate mail for his often harsh or glowing rock
criticism.
Joe Shanahan - Co-owner of Metro and Double Door, the two biggest
rock clubs in Chicago.
Julia Adams - Co-owner of the venerable Lounge Ax. This club has
been experiencing financial difficulty as a result of archaic city ordinances and yuppie neighbors. Luckily, some friends have come to
their aid. Touch & Go has released The Lounge Ax Defense and Relocation CD and a three-day concert raised over $25,000 to help with their legal bills.
Bruce Finkelman - Owner of the cheap, uh, make that inexpensive, hole-in-the-wall-ish club Empty Bottle.
