Wesley Willis Fiasco

Headed by a 6 foot, 4 inch, 320 pound schizophrenic, the Fiasco is a weird combination of glam-rock, heavy metal, rock-and-roll star personas, and excess. An icon of Chicago's scene, Willis is fond of head-butting strangers on the street and peddling his solo CDs and felt-tipped pen drawings of Chicago's skyline (which sell for a few hundred dollars in New York art galleries). Whether he's being exploited or just enjoys performing his "outsider art," Willis has charmed many in the music industry, including Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder. Willis recently released two solo CDs on Rick Rubin's American Recordings label and the Fiasco has been touring with Rocket from the Crypt, Sublime, and Lordz of Brooklyn. Their debut album, "Spookydisharmonious conflicthellride," is on the Urban Legend label. Although the band broke up, Willis and the individual band members remain a presence in the music scene.
